  • eSIM-Compatible Devices

    Please check in advance whether the device you will be using is compatible with eSIM.

  • SIM Lock Release

    You can use eSIM if your device is SIM-free. If it is not SIM-free, a SIM lock release is required.
    For instructions on how to release the lock, please check the website of your current mobile carrier.

  • Internet Environment

    Downloading the eSIM is done by connecting to a network such as Wi-Fi.
    Customers traveling to Japan can download the eSIM before leaving their country to be able to use the internet immediately upon arrival in Japan.

  • Can I change or cancel my order?

    Cancellation and Refund Policy

    As a general rule, due to the nature of the product (the activation code being disclosed upon delivery), the product cannot be reused. Therefore, we do not accept cancellations, returns, or refunds after purchase.
    However, only in the following cases will we conduct an investigation and provide a refund or reissue the activation code:

    • The purchased eSIM is completely unusable due to reasons attributable to our company.
    • The activation code provided by us does not function correctly.
    • The product provided differs from the details of your order.
    • A duplicate payment was processed for the same order due to a system malfunction or other technical issues on our part.

    In any of the above cases, we will verify the usage history of the activation code and take appropriate action at our discretion.
    Please be advised that we cannot accept cancellations for customer convenience, even if the service has not yet been started.

  • Are there any initial fees or cancellation penalties?

    There are no additional fees beyond the plan cost.

  • What is an unlocked device?

    This is an unlocked smartphone or mobile device, which means it's not locked to a specific carrier and can be used with any SIM card.

  • How can I check if my device is unlocked?

    You can check this on your current device.

    For iPhone: Go to Settings > General > About. If the SIM Lock field says "No SIM restrictions," the device is unlocked.

    For Android: The path may vary by model, but you can usually find it under Settings > About phone > SIM card status. If it shows "SIM unlocked" or "SIM permitted," the device is unlocked.

    If you can't check it on your device, please contact your mobile carrier directly to confirm.

  • Can I make voice calls and send SMS messages?

    This is a data-only service, so you cannot make or receive traditional voice calls or send and receive SMS messages. However, you can still make calls to others using network applications like FaceTime or LINE.

  • How do I start using the service?

    After your order is complete, we will send you a separate email containing a URL to download your eSIM and generate your activation code.

    To get started, simply click the URL in the email to generate your activation code. Then, just follow the provided setup instructions to begin using the service.

    **Please note:** You will need a Wi-Fi connection to install the eSIM profile.

  • How can I check which devices are eSIM-compatible?

    Please enter "*#06#" in the phone app on your device.
    If a 32-digit number labeled "EID" appears among the displayed information, your device supports eSIM.
    On some Android devices, if "EID" is not displayed, please check via:
    Settings ⇒ Device Information ⇒ SIM Status.
    If there is no EID shown in the device information, your device may not support eSIM.
    For more details, please contact the store where you purchased the device.
    Please note that we do not guarantee compatibility with all devices.

  • I uninstalled the app on my iOS device and now I can't reinstall it a second time. Is it a known issue that once an app is deleted, it cannot be installed on that device again?

    Once an eSIM is deleted, it cannot be reinstalled. Furthermore, a single eSIM can only be used on one device and cannot be transferred or installed on another device after its initial use.

  • Can I use the same eSIM on multiple devices?

    The eSIM can only be used on one device at a time and cannot be used on multiple devices.
    However, you can use the tethering function to share your network with other devices.

  • How will I receive the eSIM?

    Since this is a digital product, you will not receive a physical item. After your order and payment are complete, we will send you a URL for your eSIM download via email.

    The delivery will be completed upon sending this email.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We do not issue **separate receipts**. Please use your credit card statement as proof of payment.

  • How soon can I use it after I buy it?

    You can purchase an eSIM anytime, **24/7**.
    Once your payment is complete, your activation code is automatically issued within **minutes** and sent to you via email, so you can start using the service right away.

  • Can I order an eSIM before arriving in Japan?

    You can place your order 24/7, whether you're already in Japan or still on your way.
    Please be aware that your usage period begins on the day you **install the eSIM**. Be sure to install it only when you are ready to start using the service.

  • Can I use it overseas?

    eSIM Geographic Availability
    Currently, our eSIM can only be used in **Japan** and is not available for use abroad. We are actively developing a version that will allow for international use in the future.

  • Can I purchase multiple items at once?

    Yes, you can use it on multiple devices.
    We will send you a separate email with a URL for each eSIM you ordered.

  • Can I add more data to my eSIM?

    You can add more data to your plan on our recharge website.
    However, please note that you **cannot recharge** your eSIM once its data is fully depleted or its usage period has expired. In either of those cases, you will need to purchase a **new eSIM**.

About How to Use

  • How do I use it?

    An email containing the "eSIM download URL (for activation code issuance)" will be sent to you after your order is complete.

    Simply click the URL in the email to generate the activation code, then follow the setup instructions to start using the service. You can check the setup steps here.

    A Wi-Fi connection is required to install the eSIM profile.

  • When should I install the eSIM?

    The first day of your service period begins on the day you install the eSIM. We recommend installing it on the day you wish to start using the service.
    If you purchase the eSIM while outside of Japan, it's best to install it upon your arrival.

  • Can I activate the eSIM before I arrive in Japan?

    While you can activate the account outside of Japan, the usage period will begin as soon as it's activated. For this reason, we recommend activating it after you arrive in Japan.

  • If I buy the eSIM in advance, will it automatically activate upon my arrival in Japan?

    It will not activate automatically, so please activate it after you arrive in Japan.

    Even if you accidentally activate it, you can only use the service within Japan, not outside the country.

  • Can I check my data usage?

    Once the eSIM has been downloaded and configured, you will be able to access your My Page. You can check your current data usage and remaining balance on your My Page.

  • Can I use the same eSIM on multiple devices?

    The eSIM can only be used on the single device it was installed on. It cannot be used on multiple devices. However, you can use the tethering function to share the network with other devices.

  • I accidentally installed the eSIM on the wrong device. Can I transfer it?

    Unfortunately, once an eSIM is installed, it cannot be transferred to another device. You can, however, use tethering to share the connection.

  • I have leftover data. Can I get a refund?

    We sincerely apologize, but refunds are not possible.

  • What should I do with the eSIM after I'm finished using it?

    You simply need to delete the eSIM.
    Please note that you will not be able to reinstall it.

    For iPhones:
    Open Settings.
    Tap Cellular or Mobile Data.
    Tap the eSIM you want to delete.
    Tap Remove eSIM.

    For Android:
    Tap Settings -> Mobile network.
    Tap Advanced settings to see Erase SIM.
    Tap Erase to complete the process.
    Please note that the steps may vary depending on the OS version and device model.

You can easily recharge your Sophia eSIM’s data from the site below and continue using it as is!

*Important Note: This applies to SIMs with remaining usage periods and data.
For plans that slow down after exceeding the data limit, you can recharge as long as there are remaining days. However, for the 180-day and 365-day plans, recharging is not possible once the data runs out.
